Episode 28 - Liftoff Season

Not much has happened recently, but Paul and Ryan are back to talk catchers, relief pitchers, and salary figures. With the Winter Meetings coming up, we wonder what the O's might do by the end of next week. Is it really time for liftoff? On the outfielder front, DJ Stewart and Yusniel Diaz are finally gone, and 2019 draft pick Johnny Rizer retired. Maybe Austin Hays is the next to go. Also, a preview of our upcoming tournament series, Orioles Podcast Feud.

Episode 27 - Offseason Preview

With free agency officially beginning on Thursday, Ryan and Paul break down what might and might not happen over the next few months. Brandon Hyde and Adley Rutschman are finalists for AL Manager and Rookie of the Year, respectively, with the winners being announced early next week. The Orioles made a few roster moves this week, Mike Elias is ready for liftoff, and the 40-man roster has plenty of space available. We discuss some players we would love to see the Orioles sign in a perfect world, some names that might be more realistic fits, and what those contracts might look like. Ryan also proposes a trade to the Marlins, but it's not for just Pablo Lopez.

Episode 26 - Gold Gloves

*LATE UPLOAD* From 11/2, Ryan and Paul discuss the World Series, the long-term comparisons between Mike Trout, Bryce Harper, and Manny Machado, and of course how cool it is to see Trey Mancini playing for a ring. Additionally, Ramon Urias brought home a Gold Glove, Jorge Mateo and arguably Ryan Mountcastle were snubbed as finalists, and Brandon Hyde was named American League Manager of the Year by The Sporting News. Finally, which prospects need to be added to the 40-man roster this fall to keep them protected from the Rule 5 Draft?

Episode 25 - Light Throwing

Our latest episode includes some discussion about the ongoing League Championship Series and the potential of a Manny Machado vs Trey Mancini World Series matchup. John Means has started throwing, the Orioles have a ton of catchers on the roster, and the weakest links from the 2022 bullpen have said goodbye. In addition, Heston Kjerstad has been excellent in the Arizona Fall League and Shohei Ohtani is unhappy in Anaheim. Finally, Ryan Mountcastle looks like a stud but some think he might be a trade candidate.

Episode 24 - Season Wrap with Eric Arditti

Barstool Sports Orioles writer RDT joins Paul and Ryan this week to wrap up the 2022 season and talk about expectations moving forward. We cover everything from our favorite moments, thoughts on manager Brandon Hyde, the shape of the starting rotation heading into next year, which players have earned their spots and which still need to do so, and what the offseason might look like.

Episode 23 - Splitsville

We love the Orioles. We want them to win. It doesn't always feel like the manager has the same views. In this episode, we applaud the recent performance of Anthony Santander, discuss the unfortunate end to Ramon Urias' season, and then things kind of go off the rails. Wednesday night's lineup is abysmal. Kyle Stowers needs an opportunity to show that he can handle left-handed pitchers at the Major League level. Paul has been anti-Hyde for awhile, and Ryan has finally come around.

Episode 22 - Mike Bordick

Former shortstop, coach, broadcaster, and 2011 Orioles Hall of Fame inductee Mike Bordick joins the podcast this week for a great interview. We discuss the heartbreaking 1997 ALCS, the 2000 trade deadline and Bordick's return as a free agent the following off-season, the Orioles infield defense and excess of talent, how the club might improve moving forward, his relationship with Gary Thorne, and much more. The O's dropped 3 of 4 to the Toronto Blue Jays to fall 4.5 games back of a Wild Card spot with under a month left to play. Is that deficit too large to overcome? Paul and Ryan break down what they learned and later discuss a couple of Orioles infielders worthy of Gold Glove consideration. Spoiler alert: neither of them is Jorge Mateo.
